Residents are being urged to remain vigilant following a fly-tipping incident witnessed on Monday 28th September 2026.
At approximately 6:45pm, a member of the local community reported seeing a man illegally dumping rubble and plastic waste on the verge at the Maypole Green junction on the A1120, opposite nearby agricultural fields. Some of the debris was also left on the carriageway, creating a potential hazard for road users.
The vehicle involved was described as a bright blue Ford Custom-type van with highway-style chevron markings on the rear. Witnesses noted that the van did not have side windows and was driven by a white, bald male. Unfortunately, the vehicle registration number could not be obtained.
Following the incident, the same vehicle was reportedly seen travelling through the village at what appeared to be a speed exceeding the limit.
The matter has been reported and residents are encouraged to remain alert. Anyone who sees this vehicle or witnesses similar activity is asked, where safe to do so, to make a note of the registration number and report the information to East Suffolk Council.
