Tom McGarry, Head of Regional External Affairs and Development, Sizewell C, Nuclear Development writes:
"As you are probably aware, we are waiting for the Secretary of State to announce the decision on Sizewell C Co’s application for a Development Consent Order to build and operate Sizewell C. We expect an announcement by 8 July.
We are hopeful for a positive decision and have always taken the responsibility to plan for a successful outcome. Therefore it is important that we continue to work closely with local colleges and training providers to raise aspirations and promote employment and training opportunities to local students and jobseekers.
So please click on this link to find the recently updated Employment and Training Prospectus for Sizewell C. The document outlines the roles needed to build Sizewell C and signposts the local colleges which have already signed up to offer required courses. It is being shared with all our local colleges and training providers and we hope it will be useful for local people keen to find out how to join us or take the next steps in their training towards employment.
Alongside this we also:
Work closely with Job Centres across Suffolk and Norfolk and charity partners Access Community Trust and Inspire Suffolk to ensure local people are ready to work on the project.
Run the Sizewell C Jobs Service, an online portal for the employment and apprenticeship opportunities on the project, is running training so local people can be matched with jobs.
Coordinate the Young Sizewell C programme, which helps connect young people aged 16-21 to in-demand career and apprenticeship opportunities across Suffolk and Norfolk.
I hope you find the Prospectus an interesting and enjoyable read and if you have any questions or queries, please do not hesitate to contact us."
