The ceremony to reopen the Jubilee Hall was a great success. Around 200 guests, visitors and neighbours all gathered to celebrate the culmination of six years of hard work by James Maberly and the team of volunteers. During his speech, James thanked Keir Wyatt and Allen Dyne for their help and support in raising the funds and dealing with day to day crises. A Hall cleaner has been appointed, however, we still need a Hall Manager to look after the running of the Hall. This has been a voluntary role in the past, suitable for someone who wants to contribute to the life of the village. If you are interested, please contact 638627.
There have recently been several reports of stolen credit card details being used to purchase goods in-store. The offenders will distract staff after the amount has been entered into the card payment device and then key in the stolen card details rather than using the chip and PIN facility. If staff do not check the signature that is then requested, the offender is able to leave the premises with the fraudulently obtained goods. Please use the following advice to reduce the risk of fraud occurring.
One of the carved Angels on the front gates of the Church has been stolen. It was taken from the front right hand side of the church gates possibly over last weekend.
