Want to be on TV?

26 February 2020

The BBC 1 programme “Shop Well For Less” are seeking families to take part in the show which shows viewers how to rein in their spending without compromising their lifestyle. A key message from one of the speakers at our recent East Suffolk Greenprint Forum event on the 3rd February, Ian Rowlands from Incredible Oceans, was the need to reach people with whom we might not usually engage. As this is a mainstream-type TV show rather than one aimed at people who already “get” the environmental message there might be an opportunity for someone to communicate the possibilities of a low-consumption lifestyle to an audience that might not ordinarily be exposed to such a message, if anyone is tempted to try and get on the programme feel free to contact shopwell@rdftelevision.com

Suffolk Refill Directory

26 February 2020

New Suffolk Refill Directory launched has been collated listing shops and mobile vendors in Suffolk that are known to supply loose consumer goods to customers who bring their own refillable containers, helping to reduce the demand for single-use packaging and cater for the growing number of consumers who are aware of the need to wean ourselves off the use-once-and-chuck culture and the Directory aims to help those consumers to seek out vendors offering this option. The kinds of goods offered range from loose-leaf tea, rice, oats, chocolate and other dried foods through to household cleaning products. The Directory has been collated by the Suffolk Waste Partnership with input from Greenprint’s Plastic Action Champion volunteers.
