Described as a Fashion Show, this is in fact far more than that. In addition to the catwalk contributors presenting clothes that have been sustainably-sourced, made from natural fabrics, or are recycled, there will be stalls displaying all things ‘green’ – ethically-produced clothing, cruelty-free cosmetics, natural gifts, organic food and more. Needless to say, there will also be a raffle and light refreshments. Entrance £5 Everyone Welcome!

Don’t forget to wear a garment you have upcycled, or something green, or at least your green heart, to reflect the theme and enjoy sharing each others’ company again!

As we become more aware of how we are damaging our planet, we all want to ‘do our bit’ to prevent this, so this event is to be recommended.

The show will include ‘before and after’ photos of members’ upcycled garments and the one judged best will receive a small prize. So have a rummage in your wardrobe and get inspired to give a new lease of life to a garment that you no longer wear. (There are ideas galore online – just type-in ‘upcycling’). Don’t forget to take a photo of the original item of clothing before you start altering it and, preferably, show the upcycled article being worn. (This can be for a woman, man or child.) Please contact Moira Hammond on 01473 659482 or moira.hammond@gmail.com if you would like to offer a contribution.
